This Newsroom Service is provided using third party service Campaign Monitor, as operated by the Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (OICAC).
This Privacy Policy describes how the Territory collects and uses your Personal Information collected when you subscribe to the Newsroom Service.
Personal Information has the same meaning as in the Information Act 2002 (NT).
If you subscribe to receive media releases via the Newsroom Service, you will need to provide your email address.
In addition, when you subscribe you will be consenting to send the following additional information about you at the time you first subscribe, and every time you click a link in an email sent to you via the Newsroom Service (the Additional Information):
This Additional Information will be held in a private account against your email address by Campaign Monitor under a contractual arrangement with the Northern Territory Government.

Campaign Monitor may collect the Additional Information via web forms, as well as through use of automated collection tools such as cookies, web beacons and Flash player codes.
The OICAC collects your Personal Information as part of carrying out its public awareness functions. In particular:
The OICAC will only view data collected through this service in aggregate, for purposes such as determining the number of Territorians in different locations that are viewing media releases, or which media releases attract the most community interest.
The OICAC will only seek to view the data of an identifiable individual where this is authorised or required by law.
The OICAC uses third party service Campaign Monitor to collect and handle your Personal Information on its behalf. If you subscribe to this service, you will be consenting to Campaign Monitor and the OICAC using your Personal Information for the purposes stated.
The OICAC may use your Personal Information for the purposes stated above, and any other purpose listed on a collection statement at the point of collection, or in any other way made clear at the time of collecting the Personal Information.
Campaign Monitor indicates that it may additionally use information gathered through this arrangement for further purposes, beyond the needs of the OICAC. By subscribing and continuing to use this service, you are consenting to further use of the information by Campaign Monitor.
In particular, Campaign Monitor indicates that it may transfer Personal Information to contractors or third parties for various business purposes (including marketing), or where required to do so by law. If you subscribe to this service, you will be consenting to Campaign Monitor transferring your information to further organisations for further uses beyond the scope of this subscription as set out in Campaign Monitor’s Privacy Policy and Campaign Monitor’s Terms of Use. While the OICAC is liable for Campaign Monitor’s handling of information in relation to the provision of the Newsroom Service, the OICAC is not responsible for any use of your information by Campaign Monitor and further third parties to the extent that this has been done with your consent.
Campaign Monitor is based in the United States of America (USA) and is subject to the laws of the USA. Your information (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Campaign Monitor on servers located outside Australia.
Information obtained under this service may be disclosed as required by law.
The OICAC will take all reasonable measures to prevent unauthorised access to, or disclosure of, your Personal Information while it is held by the OICAC, including under the agreement with Campaign Monitor.
You can unsubscribe from the Newsroom Service at any time by selecting the 'unsubscribe’ option sent in every email sent to you by Campaign Monitor.
If you wish to withdraw consent for continued use of your information by the OICAC, we suggest you unsubscribe to the Newsroom Service and contact the OICAC (see contact details at the end of this Privacy Policy) and state that you withdraw your consent. To the extent reasonably practicable, the OICAC will make efforts to de-identify any Personal Information that it may hold. You should be aware that Campaign Monitor may separately retain its own records of your information in accordance with Campaign Monitor’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
From time to time the OICAC may through the Newsroom Service send you invitations to complete surveys, provide feedback or otherwise provide a response via a third party provider. Links to third party sites may also sometimes be linked to from content you receive through the Newsroom Service.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third party websites or digital services which may be linked to from content published via the Newsroom Service. We recommend you read the privacy statement of the relevant service when you access these sites.
If you provide any feedback to the OICAC you should not provide Personal Information about any other person in a manner that might identify them.
You may seek corrections to your Personal Information that the OICAC has collected if you believe it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. The OICAC is required to take reasonable steps to correct Personal Information to ensure that, having regard to the purpose for which it is held, the information is not inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. You may also seek access to your Personal Information that the OICAC holds in relation to this Newsroom Service.
