Quotes by DEPWS Senior Director Park Development, Neva McCartney

“After listening to feedback through industry and community consultation it has been determined 1 October is a suitable introduction date that allows for thorough testing of the new system with minimal disruption to visitors.”

“We are really excited to see the return of strong visitor numbers to the NT following the difficult year we saw in 2020. We want this new system to work well and for people to have confidence when planning their visits to our Parks.

“The walking season for both the Jatbula Trail at Nitmiluk and Table Top Walk in Litchfield closes at the end of September, so the introduction of the new system and multi-day walking fees won’t impact hikers on those trails at all this year.

“The first of the camp fee increases will be still implemented on 1 July 2021, and collected through the current iron ranger system, where envelopes are deposited on park.”
