Positive COVID-19 Case Update

Four new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the Northern Territory in the past 24 hours.

Four females, aged four, 26, 33 and an infant under one who arrived on the repatriation flight from Chennai on 15 April 2021 have tested positive for COVID-19.

Three of the cases are family members of a formally reported COVID-19 case from the same flight, isolating together. 

Both children are asymptomatic, while the 26 and 33 year olds are displaying mild symptoms. All are under the care of the AUSMAT team at the NT Centre for National Resilience.

Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020:

·       6668 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience.

·       A total of 96 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported from international repatriation.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 137. All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
