It’s a jam-packed week of school holiday fun this April at Darwin Waterfront and Stokes Hill Wharf.

Come down to Darwin Waterfront during the April School Holidays, with fun scheduled for the whole family every weekday, Monday 12 to Friday 16 April 2021.

We’re inviting Darwin’s little adventurers to come and explore the Waterfront with a new and exciting program that encourages creativity, imagination and getting active.

All activities will run from 10am to 12pm unless advertised otherwise. For the full programme, visit waterfront.nt.gov.au.

Back by popular demand is Bella’s Pizza Making and Pasta Demonstration workshop on Monday 12 April from 11am. Booking is essential via waterfront.nt.gov.au.

Kids will be encouraged to engage in learning play, with Surf Life Saving Northern Territory hosting Nipper Education Program and Water Safety Awareness on Tuesday 13 April from 10am to 12pm.

Bring the little ones along to the Stokes Hill Wharf arcade on Tuesday 13 April from 3pm to decorate biscuits in the shape of fish, created by Emma's Sweet Temptations. Little creators can choose from an array of lollies and decorations to create their mid-week sweet treat. Registration is essential.

There’s so much to discover at Stokes Hill Wharf these school holidays. Cast a line at the free fishing platforms, set sail on the Black Pearl Pirate Ship kid’s playground, or bask in some of the best sunsets of the Top End as you enjoy takeaway fish & chips before a Darwin Harbour cruise.

Wednesday 14 April calls for all little explorers to watch out for our roaming dinosaur at the ultimate prehistoric scavenger hunt! Come down to the parklands at 10am and see what fun dinosaur facts they can uncover, and build your own mini-Jurassic Park with prizes to be won! Limited packs are available, register via waterfront.nt.gov.au.

Then, there’s no adventure quite like our own history! Join our guided tour of the WWII tunnels on Thursday 15 April and complete the kid-friendly activities as you learn more about this chapter of Darwin’s history. With FREE Tunnel entry for registered attendees, our first session is booked out however the second 12pm session is still available, register now to avoid disappointment.  

Boy Scouts and Girl Guides unite in our Camping Adventures on Friday 16 April from 10am. Get the kids ready for camping during the Dry and learn different outdoor skills in a fun and interactive environment! No registration required. 

Families can register for all workshops that require bookings at waterfront.nt.gov.au

Make the most of your school holidays by splashing into the Wave Lagoon or Recreation Lagoon, challenge a friend to the Aqua Park or hire one of their new stand up paddleboards. Explore the parklands and grab a bite at one of the many restaurants or cafes.  

April School Holidays at Darwin Waterfront will be a COVID safe event, and attendees are encouraged to use their Territory Check-in App at one of our many check points, and utilise hand sanitiser available on the day.

Families are encouraged to be sun-safe and wear sunscreen, a hat and drink plenty of water.
