Pride in Your Place Awards – Ricky Coulthard

Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities

Congratulations to Ricky Coulthard, the first 2021 winner for Territory Families, Housing and Communities’ Pride in Your Place (PIYP) awards.

PIYP is a monthly award to recognise public housing tenants who take pride in their home and yard.

Mr Coulthard’s home was deemed a winner due to his lush green front lawn, an honourable achievement this time of year in Alice Springs.

Remote and urban tenants are eligible to win a monthly prize of a $200 gift card and certificate signed by the Minister for Territory Families and Urban Housing or the Minister for Remote Housing and Town Camps, dependent on the tenant’s location.

Tenants can be nominated at any time by a staff member from Territory Families, Housing and Communities. To find out more, contact your local housing tenancy officer.

Quotes

“I love spending time in my garden and making sure it looks great.  It makes me feel very proud to live here.  This is my home and I like to feel good about where I live.

When I moved in eight years ago the yard was just dirt.  I like looking after my garden and enjoy seeing the changes in the garden over the years.

I rang my mum to tell her I won the Pride in Your Place Award with the certificate signed by the Minister and a $200 Bunnings Voucher to spend in my yard.  She was really proud of me too.” – Ricky Coulthard, Alice Springs resident
