It’s a splashtastic start to 2021 at Darwin Waterfront and Stokes Hill Wharf with our three-week program for January School Holidays

Come down to Darwin Waterfront during the January School Holidays, with fun scheduled for the whole family every weekday, Monday 4 January to Friday 22 January 2021. 

The focus is everything you love at the Waterfront, with sport, creative and cooking themed activities to help you survive the wet season as kids are encouraged to get active and learn new skills.

Kids will be encouraged to engage in learning play, with Surf Life Saving Northern Territory hosting Nipper Education Program and Water Safety Awareness programs every Tuesday from 10am-12pm.

Friday night’s will see the Wave Lagoon light up into a disco-mania from 5pm-7pm, with live DJ and glow sticks helping the kids beat the heat to Summer’s beats. Wave lagoon fees apply.

Kids are getting into the kitchen with pizza making workshops at Bella Restaurant, or Cupcake & Cookie decorating at The Precinct on select days. Registration is essential for all kids cooking classes via https://www.waterfront.nt.gov.au/january-school-holidays

Thursday 14 January is the Waterfront Free Community Sports Day, as local NT basketball players, Little Champs Academy, Rugby Tots and the Waratah Football Club come together to teach new skills and encourage an active lifestyle for kids of all ages.

Families are invited to stay and enjoy dinner at one of our many restaurants, with kids and family specials available at select venues. Contact each restaurant for more details. 

Join in our Mega Water Carnival Day on Wednesday 20 January from 10am, celebrating everything H20 with a dunk-machine, foam pit, water fights and more! 

Sail into Stokes Hill Wharf for more school holiday activities throughout January, with a Pirate's Day on Monday 11 January encouraging little imaginations!

Bring your teddy to Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility at Stokes Hill Wharf on Monday 18 January from 5pm-7pm with interactive Teddy Hospital Workshops, gliding planes craft workshops and explore the tourist facility with 50% off admission for the evening.

Whilst at Stokes Hill Wharf take advantage of special meal deals from Crustaceans where kids under 10 years eat for free with every paying adult main meal; at Portside on the Wharf kids meals are reduced to $8, plus more!

The diverse program is designed to entertain children from 4 to 14 years, in addition to entertainment amenities already available including the Recreation Lagoon, Wave Lagoon, playground and all-new Aqua Park.

The Wave Lagoon is open every day from 10am to 6pm. $18 gets a family of two adults and three kids all day entry, single entry is $5 for children and seniors, or $7 for adults. 

Alternatively, families can purchase a Darwin Waterfront Membership which includes unlimited entry into the Wave Lagoon and a discounted offers at over 30 businesses until 6pm daily for one year, cost is $125.

The all-new Aqua Park is running from 9am-6pm daily at $20 per person for ages 6+, with hour long sessions of bouncing, water-based fun!

Families can also enjoy the free Recreation Lagoon, which is fully patrolled by lifeguards from 9am to 6pm daily, or play beach volleyball and 3x3 basketball for free on full-sized courts seven days a week.

All visitors are reminded to be sun-smart and bring sunscreen, a hat and plenty of drinking water.

Every school holiday activity will be operating within a COVID Safety plan with contact tracing via the Territory Check In App.
