Alice Springs Water Allocation Plan Review

Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security

The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security (DEPWS) is inviting Territorians to have their say about the 5 year review of the Alice Springs Water Allocation Plan 2016 to 2026.

The Plan commenced in February 2016 with the 4 principal objectives being to:

·         Maintain public water supply

·         Protect the environment

·         Support Indigenous culture and communities; and

·         Ensure sustainable development

DEPWS will prepare a report at the conclusion of the consultation process for the Environment Minister to consider and might include recommendations that the Plan:

·         Either remain as is without any changes; or

·         Be modified where appropriate for the remainder of the Plan’s lifespan

The survey period ends on 11 December 2020.

More information about the Plan and the review process is at denr.nt.gov.au/alicewaterplan
