BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: WATCH and ACT

**UPDATE**

LOCATION: Fowler Road, BATCHELOR 

ALERT LEVEL: Watch and Act - There is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing. Start taking action now to protect your family and your property.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire. INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 27/08/2020 19:55 hours

STATUS: GOING - A fire which is spreading on one or more fronts. Effective containment strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside, Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside, A bushfire is running or contained under very high to extreme weather conditions, Bushfires NT is primarily undertaking defensive strategies to protect lives and property.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: The fire is still burning south of Litchfield Park Road between Scott Road and Poett Road including Windmill Road, Rum Jungle. Firefighters are currently undertaking back burning operations in an effort to contain the fire. Spot fires are occurring.
