Australia’s first Supercars doubleheader wrapped up today, with last year’s BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown winner Scott McLaughlin taking out the CoreStaff Darwin SuperSprint Territory 2.0 trophy. His win followed Jamie Whincup taking home the 2020 BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown last weekend.

This year’s Supercars was unlike any other, and more than 11,000 people caught the action at Hidden Valley over the two weekends. A highlight for many was the chance to meet their Supercars heroes during an exclusive Pit Lane Walk today. Flags were flown, shirts signed and physically distant selfies snapped as eager fans traded jokes with their favourite drivers.

As well as the Supercars, the North Australian Motorsports Club took to the track with three categories combined - Improved Production NT, Commodore Cup NT and HQ Racing Australia. David Ling, Marian Bujnowski, Rodney Jessup and Craig Wright placed first in their categories. The Top End Drift Association also put on an impressive demo display.

Another highlight over the four days of racing was the attendance of Bluey and Bingo, everyone’s favourite Blue Heeler pups. Small fans were delighted to floss with the two sisters, who were enjoying their first time in the Territory.

The Supercars teams will now head to Queensland for the next round. The NT Major Events team will turn its attention to bringing motorsports to Alice Springs, with the Red CentreNATS scheduled to take place from 4-6 September. Tickets cost $30 for a three-day pass.
