Central Palmerston Area Plan Stage 2 consultation launches

Northern Territory Planning Commission (NTPC)

The Northern Territory Planning Commission is seeking community feedback on the draft Central Palmerston Area Plan, which is now available for public comment.

Planning Commission Chairman Dr David Ritchie said the launch starts the Commission’s second stage of consultation with the community on the Draft Area Plan.

“The Commission encourages the community to be involved to help refine the future vision for Central Palmerston, and we’re keen to hear the views of all stakeholders,” said Dr Ritchie.

Northern Territory Government Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Eva Lawler said the Area Plan is an important planning tool to help achieve a long-term vision for Central Palmerston.

“Palmerston is the family capital of the Territory with the Territory Government investing in the area. I encourage all residents of Palmerston and surrounds to get involved and provide the Commission with feedback on the draft Area Plan and associated Needs Assessment during Stage 2,” said Minister Lawler.

When complete, the Central Palmerston Area Plan will provide a policy framework to inform future rezoning and development decisions.

Anyone interested in being involved in shaping the future development of Central Palmerston is invited to make a submission by Friday 7 August 2020.

A number of consultation events are planned across Central Palmerston. Visit haveyoursay.nt.gov.au or planningcommission.nt.gov.au for full event details, to download the area plan documents or provide your feedback.
