Delegation to Indonesia to promote Territory Vocational Education and Training

Department of Trade, Business and Innovation

Two officers from the Department of Trade, Business and Innovation will accompany Minister for Workforce Training Selena Uibo on the inaugural Indonesia Vocational Education and Training Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia. The trip to Indonesia from 6-11 October will also involve meetings with alumni and key stakeholders, and an agent briefing.

The mission aligns with the Territory Government’s commitment to promote Territory vocational education and training providers’ capability and capacity for transnational education delivery in Indonesia. It will showcase the Territory as a study destination and with the aim of increasing the number of full-fee paying international students studying in the Northern Territory as part of the Northern Territory International Education and Training Strategy 2019-2025.

Whilst in Indonesia the delegation will participate in two ‘Alumni and friends of the Territory’ events, one in Lombok and one in Jakarta. This will connect the Territory with previous students and notable business contacts in those cities. The delegation will also hold an agent briefing in Jakarta. Agents recruit up to 75% of international students to study overseas. Approximately 30 agents are expected to attend the briefing to learn more about Australia’s Northern Territory.
