Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade Dates confirmed for the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade’s annual cattle sales

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade’s online bull and cow sales will take place in July and August, auctioning high quality cattle that are purpose bred for the Territory’s conditions and markets.

Cattle offered for auction have Estimated Breeding Values and the bulls on offer have passed a breeding soundness evaluation conducted by an accredited veterinarian.

The online auction will see Brahman and Tropical Composite cattle on offer to the public with the confirmed dates as follows:

· bull sale on Tuesday, 4 July 2023

· cow sale on Wednesday, 2 August 2023.

The animals up for grabs are part of the department’s long-term selective breeding program and current genetic research projects. These annual sales provide industry with the opportunity to invest in high-performance cattle, bred for the Territory climate.

The 2022 sales attracted buyers from QLD, NT and WA with one polled, grey Brahman cow selling for $10,300.

The 2023 auction will be conducted online by AuctionsPlus with a full catalogue provided by Elders.
