BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE - ADVICE

LOCATION: Yuendumu ALT, YUENDUMU (COMPLEX)

ALERT LEVEL: Advice

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire.

INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 13/01/2022 11:46 hours

STATUS: GOING - A fire which is spreading on one or more fronts. Effective containment strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside , Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside.

WHAT TO DO: Stay informed until threat is reduced.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: The fire is south of the Yuendumu community and south of the Tanami road. Bushfires NT staff and volunteers are on ground assisting landholders.

An IMT has been established at Bushfires NT headquarters and two Fire Management Officers from Darwin have been deployed to support the Central Australian response.

Bushfires NT are undertaking a reconnaissance flight to obtain intelligence for the response plan.
