Cheryl MacDonald, Acting Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, NT Health, said the awards provide the community with the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to the Territory’s dedicated nurses and midwives.
“The majority of our health workforce is made up of nurses and midwives, making these roles critical to improving health systems and outcomes for the whole community,” she said.
“Through these awards, we’re able to recognise the amazing contribution nurses and midwives make to our wellbeing, so I’d encourage anyone who has received care from, or worked with a stand-out nurse or midwife to get online and make a nomination.”
All nurses and midwives who hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and are employed in the NT as a nurse or midwife at the time of nomination (or within 12 months of nomination) are eligible for the awards.
Award finalists will be named in March and winners will be announced at a gala ball in Darwin on Saturday, 10 May 2025.
