BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: PLANNED BURN ADVICE

LOCATION: DARWIN RIVER DAM WATER CATCHMENT (also affecting the west side of Stuart Highway)

ALERT LEVEL: Planned Burn Advice - Firefighters will be managing the burn but visibility may be affected.

FIRE TYPE: Planned burn.

INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 29/04/2025 1135 hours

STATUS: PLANNED BURN - A planned burn is due to start Wednesday 30th April 2025 at 1400 hours

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Aerial and ground ignition will be occurring over the Darwin River Dam catchment area. Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside, Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: For the safety of firefighting crews and other vehicles, drivers in the area are urged to slow down, turn on headlights and drive safely for the conditions.
