LOCATION: Davenport Ranges National Park, DAVENPORT

ALERT LEVEL: Advice - A fire has started in the area. Monitor the situation for changes.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire.

INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 02/11/2024 10:00 hours

STATUS: GOING - A fire which is spreading on one or more fronts. Effective containment strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside, Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside.

WHAT TO DO: Conditions may change, monitor conditions in your area. Stay informed until threat is reduced.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: Smoke from this fire incident will continue to to impact the Stuart Highway between Wauchope and Kurundi Road.

There may be active fire close to the roadside along Kurundi Road, from the Stuart Highway to Kurundi Station.

The Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve has been closed until 4 November 2024, due to this ongoing fire incident. The Devils Marbles campground is also closed until further notice. Please note that the nearby Devils Marbles Hotel remains open.

Davenport Ranges National Park will remain closed until at least 4 November 2024.

For the safety of firefighters, who will be working near the roadside on the northern part of Kurundi Rd, east of the Stuart Highway, drivers in the area are urged to slow
