Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet NT COVID-19 update

The Northern Territory is today reporting three deaths of people with COVID-19.
A woman in her 40s from a remote community in the Barkly region who had underlying health conditions passed away on 4 February at Alice Springs Hospital. Her death was confirmed by NT Health last night following clinical investigations.
A woman in her 40s from a remote community in Central Australia who had underlying health conditions passed away on 11 February at Alice Springs Hospital.
A woman in her 70s from a remote community in the Big Rivers region who had underlying health conditions passed away on 13 February at Katherine Hospital.
There have now been 13 COVID-19 related deaths recorded in the NT since the start of the pandemic. Deaths are recorded by NT Health following family consultation and once the cause of death has been assessed and confirmed it is from COVID-19, or that it was a contributing factor, in line with national criteria.
There were 1,050 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 8pm on 15 February 2022. Of these, 956 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
There were 616 cases recorded in the Top End region, 167 in Central Australia, 107 in East Arnhem, 28 in the Big Rivers region, 45 in the Barkly region and 87 are under investigation.
There are currently 143 patients in hospital, with 25 patients requiring oxygen. There is one patient in ICU.
The number of active cases in the NT is about 7,104.
Public health measures
To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the rate of transmission, the following public health measures are in place across the NT:

COVID-19 testing
Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms. A number of NT Rapid Antigen Testing and Distribution Points [https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au/stay-safe/symptoms-testing] have been established.
