Royal Darwin Hospital – Code Brown

A Code Brown was called for Royal Darwin Hospital last night following an explosion at a Darwin restaurant.

The Code Brown was in place from 8.15pm to 10.15pm and the mass casualty plan enacted following the arrival of six people, including five who were admitted and required emergency treatment on 7 September 2022.

The Code Brown enabled Royal Darwin Hospital staff to effectively plan for and manage multiple patients following an external emergency.

Of the five patients admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital last night, three patients have been discharged while two patients remain in a serious but stable condition.
