Be part of Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival!
The much-loved Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will return in May with an exciting new partnership and opportunities for artists to get involved.
While local construction company Sunbuild Seabreeze Apartments has backed the community festival by joining as naming rights sponsor, festival organisers are calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists and community groups keen to take part in the popular event.
The three-day festival, which celebrates Darwin’s unique and thriving arts and culture scene, will take place from Friday, May 12 to Sunday, May 14 along two kilometres of the beautiful Nightcliff Foreshore.
Run by Nightcliff Arts, Music and Culture Incorporated, the festival is supported by the Northern Territory Government (NTG) through Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC).
The free family-friendly festival, which began in 2005, will feature music, dance, visual arts and stalls from makers and community groups. Visitors will also be able to tuck into a meal as the sun sets, with an array of food vans and boutique bars set up at the festival. There will be a range of competitions, including Sand Sculpture and the Jetty Art Space competition.
With a sustainability focus, stalls are encouraged to go plastic free and visitors are encouraged to cycle or catch public transport.
EOIs for Territory artists, close on Friday, 31 March and applications for community stallholders, close on Sunday, 23 April. To find out more, or to apply to volunteer, head to [http://www.nightcliffseabreeze.com]

Quotes from NTMEC CEO Suzana Bishop:
“Events like Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival are an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate our vibrant arts scene, and provide avenues for artists to share their talents.
“This festival is unusual in the format it takes, with multiple stages and performance spaces dotted along our beautiful Foreshore, encouraging visitors to take their time threading their way through them all. It is a wonderful celebration of our outdoors Top End lifestyle.”
Quotes from Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival Logistics Manager Andrew Arthur:
“Spanning three glorious days in May, and heralding the beginning of the dry season, Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival will showcase Territory talent across multiple stages along the stunning Nightcliff Foreshore overlooking the Timor Sea.
“The festival will have something for everyone, so mark your diaries and come on down to the foreshore for a packed weekend of music, arts and culture.”
Quotes from Sunbuild Seabreeze Apartments Director Neil Sunners:
“We’ve always been committed to working and partnering with our local Darwin community.
“Now the Seabreeze Apartments project is underway, supporting Nightcliff Arts, Music and Culture Inc. and their ethos around waste-wise initiatives, sustainability and community inclusiveness seems the perfect way to combine our business community spirit with a deeply embedded and popular community organisation.
“We are thrilled to be embarking on this new partnership with the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival this year.”
