Department of Education Celebrate leading educators and services in the Territory
16 May 2024
Now is the time to acknowledge the Territory’s most outstanding early childhood and outside school hours educators and services, with nominations for the Northern Territory (NT) Education and Care Awards now open.
First held in 2013, the awards celebrate the incredible achievements of early childhood and outside school hours educators and services across the Territory.
The awards recognise individuals and services who continue to deliver excellent learning opportunities, are innovative in their approach and demonstrate exceptional commitment to achieving quality outcomes for young Territorians and their families.
People of all ages are encouraged to nominate an educator or service they feel exemplifies an outstanding commitment to early childhood education in the NT.
There are multiple award categories including ‘Outstanding Aboriginal Educator’, ‘Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher’, ‘Outstanding Leader’, ‘Outstanding Educator’ and ‘Outstanding Education and Care Program’.
Award nominations close on Friday, 14 June 2024.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton Esplanade in Darwin on Friday, 11 October 2024 from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Award winners will receive $1,500 (each individual award) and $2,000 (program award) to put towards professional learning objectives, which will ultimately lead to quality improvements in the Territory’s education and care services.
