BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: ADVICE #8

LOCATION: Borroloola Complex, MCARTHUR

ALERT LEVEL: Advice - Multiple fires are burning in the area. Monitor the situation for changes.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire. INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 26/10/2023 10:55 hours.

STATUS: BEING CONTROLLED - Effective strategies are in operation or planned for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility. Active fire may occur close to the roadside. Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside.

WHAT TO DO: Conditions may change, monitor conditions in your area. Stay informed until threat is reduced.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: Several large fires have merged, and the fire complex is burning on multiple fronts. Smoke and active fire may impact Nathan River Road. Backburning undertaken south of Nutwood Downs to control the spread of the fire to the west is causing smoke. An active fire front is burning south of Miniyeri, Hodgson Downs.

For the safety of firefighting crews and other vehicles, drivers in the area are urged to slow down, turn on headlights and drive safely for the conditions. For further information regarding bushfires, visit Fire Incident Map.
