NT Fire and Emergency Services Update - Structure fire – Gillen - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) responded to a structure fire on Ashwin Street in Alice Springs this morning.

Crews arrived on scene at 7:17am and acted swiftly alongside NT Police to remove the sole occupant of the house.

Firefighters brought the fire under control quickly and St John Ambulance transferred the male occupant to Alice Springs hospital for treatment.

Traffic diversions remain in place, and members of the public should avoid the area.

People who live or work in the vicinity of the fire are advised to stay inside with their windows and doors closed where possible and should avoid any outdoor activities.

A NTFRS fire investigator and NT Police are working together to determine the cause of the fire.
