Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services Ex-Tropical Cyclone Tiffany Update #2 – Cyclone Warning for Groote Eylandt

A Tropical Cyclone Warning is now in place for the Carpentaria coast from Nhulunbuy to the Queensland border, including Groote Eylandt.
Tropical Cyclone Tiffany weakened overnight but is expected to reform today in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
It is likely to cross Groote Eylandt on Wednesday as a category 2 tropical cyclone. Gales are expected to bring winds up to 140km/h on Wednesday.
Warning zone: Nhulunbuy to NT/Qld border, including Groote Eylandt, Numbulwar, Port Roper, and Port McArthur.
Watch zone: Adjacent inland areas extending west to Barunga and Mataranka.
People in the Warning zone are advised to finalise your home preparations and know where you will take shelter. Do not move to public shelters until advised by local authorities.
People in Watch zone should activate their household plans and emergency kits and tidy your yards of loose objects
