Chariots of Thunder to showcase best sprintcar drivers
Sprintcar drivers will floor it at Northline Speedway next weekend for the Ostojic Chariots of Thunder Sprintcar Series.
Witness the sheer adrenaline-pumping excitement of top-tier sprintcar drivers battle it out on the track, over three days from Thursday 12 September to Saturday 14 September. This year Australian Champion Lachlan McHugh will be among the 30+ drivers.
More than 30 Sprintcars including 21 from interstate, will deliver intense competition and high-speed action, as they race to claim a share of the $130,000 prize money. This year will also see 14 Wingless Sprints and 21 Junior Sedans take to the track, putting the growing local division on the national stage.
A Fan Appreciation Night, featuring a Sprintcars motorcade, will take place this evening, 11 September 2024. The motorcade will start at the Esplanade in Darwin CBD at 5.30pm and finish its journey at The Precinct at 5.40pm.
The Fan Appreciation Night celebrations will continue at The Precinct from 6.30pm – 8.30pm and feature vehicle displays, merchandise sales and a chance to meet your favourite drivers.
The Friday night of racing will see the return of the much-loved Pole Shuffle Challenge, with the driver who snags pole position for the last race offered the option to relinquish the spot and start from the rear of the field. If they successfully weave through the other competitors to finish first, they will win an additional $30,000 making it a $45,000 win!
