Quotes from Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade’s Deputy CEO of Agriculture, Fisheries and Defence, Luke Bowen
“Agribusiness is an important part of Central Australia’s economy and the Northern Territory Government is a proud partner of the MLA BeefUp series. This is a great opportunity to hear from a range of guest speakers.
“The work that the Alice Springs Pastoral Industry Advisory Committee does in providing feedback to help guide research is incredibly valuable, so we’re pleased to be celebrating their 100th meeting.
“Staff from the department are looking forward to promoting the latest research for the industry, as well as networking opportunities for the region’s beef cattle industry.”
Quotes from Alice Springs Pastoral Industry Advisory Committee’s Chair, Nicole Hayes
“The Alice Springs BeefUp program has been designed by like-minded progressive pastoralists, and it caters towards identified top issues facing the Central Australia region.
“Without research we can’t solve or identify a problem, without development the research can’t advance our industry and without networking we can’t progress and grow. BeefUp forums hit all three of these nails on the head.
“Important priority setting will occur at the BeefUp, and I recommend all producers in the area attend to have their say. If beef producers are not at the lead of the cows, then their scenery will never change.”
Quotes from Meat and Livestock Australia’s Managing Director, Jason Strong
“It goes a long way for local producers and other industry stakeholders to check into the industry and understand where it’s headed.
"I’m positive the Alice Springs BeefUp Forum will be highly-successful event.”
