COVID-19 Update: Wastewater testing and 15.5k Territorians link their vaccination status to the Territory Check In app
11 November 2021
Negative results have returned following repeat testing of wastewater samples taken in Katherine after the detection of viral fragments from the Katherine Golf Club catchment for the period 5 – 6 and for the Bicentennial Road catchment for the period 7 – 8 November.
This outcome may indicate a person who transited through the catchment area shed fragments of the virus, and the results may be linked to COVID-19 cases confirmed in the recent outbreak.
As an extra protection measure, yesterday NT Health contact tracers worked with close contacts from Katherine to re-confirm their movements. These close contacts are in quarantine and will also continue to be tested for COVID-19.
It is important all Territorians and visitors get tested for COVID-19 if showing any symptoms such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, change in taste or smell and a sore throat.
To arrange a COVID test please book online [https://covid19appointment.nt.gov.au/test] or contact the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 490 484 [tel:1800490484].
In the past 24 hours, 1,068 COVID-19 tests were completed across the NT while more than 12,500 COVID-19 tests were completed between 5 – 10 November.
More than 15,500 Territorians have now shared their COVID-19 digital vaccination certification to the Territory Check In app after the feature was launched yesterday.
Linking your COVID-19 digital certificate to The Territory Check In App is the easiest way to prove your vaccination status when checking in at a venue during a lockout.
