Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet NT COVID-19 update
23 February 2022
There were 864 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 8pm on 22 February 2022. Of these, 786 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
There were 402 cases recorded in the Top End region, 113 in Central Australia, 188 in East Arnhem, 36 in the Big Rivers region, 34 in the Barkly region and 91 are under investigation.
There are currently 131 patients in hospital, with 11 patients requiring oxygen. There are four patients in ICU.
The number of active cases in the NT is about 5,513.
Public health measures
To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the rate of transmission, the following public health measures are in place across the NT:
A Territory-wide indoor mask mandateIt is highly recommended that all people aged 12 years and over wear a mask outdoors when physical distancing cannot be appliedThe Territory Vaccine PassThe Australian Government has introduced biosecurity zones to restrict movement between remote communities in the Territory. COVID-19 testing
Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms. A number of NT Rapid Antigen Testing and Distribution Points [https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au/stay-safe/symptoms-testing] have been established.
