Quotes attributable to Chief Health Officer Dr Hugh Heggie:
“COVID-19 is impacting our communities and the way we live. The Northern Territory has travel restrictions and health controls in place for four states across Australia at this time. This demonstrates how infectious the Delta variant is and highlights how quickly it can spread.”
“Having come out of our own lockdown in the Northern Territory, it is now more important than ever that we follow the health directions in place. We know what COVID-19 can do and the impact it has, and we don’t want it back in the Territory.
“I encourage all those Territorians in Regional New South Wales and Victoria to think about coming home and those people who are planning on going to these areas to reconsider your travel. The situation can change at any time and you don’t want to get caught up in a hotspot.”
