Chief Health Officer, Dr Hugh Heggie had been travelling in Victoria, when the Northern Territory Government declared Greater Melbourne a hotspot on Thursday 27 May 2021.

Dr Hugh Heggie has returned to Darwin and is now undertaking mandatory, supervised quarantine at the Howard Springs Quarantine Facility.

Dr Charles Pain will continue to act as the Chief Health Officer during this time.
