BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: ADVICE

LOCATION: Stuart Highway, STUART ESTATE 

ALERT LEVEL: Advice  - A fire has started in the area. Monitor the situation for changes.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire   INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT:  1940 hours

STATUS: Being Controlled  BEING CONTROLLED - Effective strategies are in operation or planned for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA:Smoke from this fire may affect visibility. Active fire may occur close to the roadside. Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside. A bushfire is running or contained under very high to extreme weather conditions  

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: Firefighters continue to establish containment lines on the southern side of BEASLY Road and the southern end of GUNDAGAI Road. There is active fire on the northern side in the vicinity of the Charles Darwin Rural College, land holders are monitoring. Firefighters will continue to patrol this evening, landholders are encouraged to monitor their property for any flare ups. The fire ground is very large and is approx 40,000 ha
