Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

**EMBARGOED until 6am Wednesday 23 October**

What: Cuteness overload at the Territory Wildlife Park

The Territory Wildlife Park is in the midst of an unprecedented baby boom with zookeepers swamped by 11 baby animals in the past fortnight – levels not seen in nearly a decade.

The influx of baby animals include four wallabies, a possum, two barking owls, two red flying foxes, a black-footed tree rat and one baby curlew.

Many of the animals were rescued after their mothers were hit by cars.

It means many of the Zookeepers are now hand rearing the animals providing 24/7 care until they are strong enough to survive.

Where: The Territory Wildlife Park, meet at Front Desk.

When: Wednesday 23 October, 10am. Please allow 45 minute drive from Darwin CBD.

Who: Territory Wildlife Park Director, Shael Martin and 23 year old Zookeeper Nicolas Pond plus 11 baby animals
