BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: WATCH and ACT
LOCATION: Fog Bay Road, MILNE
This is an update for Fog Bay Road, Milne. this fire is now downgraded to Watch and Act Level and will remain at this level of warning through until 0900 hours (9.00am) Monday 16 September.
ALERT LEVEL: Watch and Act - There is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing. Start taking action now to protect your family and your property.
FIRE TYPE: Bushfire . INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 15/09/2019 20:44 hours
STATUS: Being Controlled BEING CONTROLLED - Effective strategies are in operation or planned for the entire perimeter.
RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA:Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside, Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside, Bushfires NT is primarily undertaking defensive strategies to protect lives and property.
ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: Firefighters are currently implementing strategies to prevent further spread of this fire. Residents in the vicinity of Fog Bay Road and Barramundi Drive will see increased fire activity as firefighters conduct back burning operations in an effort to contain the fire. A heightened level of threat still occurs, conditions are changing, residents are to ensure their bushfire survival plan is enacted. This Watch and Act Message will remain in place until 9.00am Monday 16 September. For the safety of firefighting crews and other vehicles, drivers in the area are urged to slow down, turn on headlights and drive safely for the conditions.
