BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE: WATCH and ACT

LOCATION: Wanderrie Road, HUMPTY DOO 

The fire in the vicinity of HUMPTY DOO is now downgraded to Watch and Act Level.

ALERT LEVEL: Watch and Act  - There is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing. Start taking action now to protect your family and your property.

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire. INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 15/09/2019 19:35 hours

STATUS: Going  GOING - A fire which is spreading on one or more fronts. Effective containment strategies are not in place for the entire perimeter.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA:Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside, Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside , A bushfire is running under very high to extreme weather conditions, Bushfires NT is primarily undertaking defensive strategies to protect lives and property.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: Firefighters are currently implementing strategies to prevent further spread of this fire. Residents in the vicinity of Buckley Road, Powell Road, Thomas Road, Kostka Road, Petherick Road, On Road, Narjic Court, Thardim Court, Powell Road and Arnhem Hoghway will see increased fire activity as firefighters conduct back burning operations in an effort to contain the fire. A heightened level of threat still occurs, conditions are changing, residents are to ensure their bushfire survival plan is enacted. For the safety of firefighting crews and other vehicles, drivers in the area are urged to slow down, turn on headlights and drive safely for the conditions.
