The Darwin Waterfront will celebrate Territory Day this Monday, 1 July, from 5pm to 8pm.
Families can nestle in for an evening of free live entertainment including performances by acoustic musicians, roving glitter artists, balloon twisters and a pyro musical fireworks spectacular.
Surrounding restaurants are open for a front row seat of the display, so be sure to make a reservation. The Waterfront’s newest establishment, Snapper Rocks will also provide patrons with a premium experience and view of the skies when they ignite.
A career built in Los Angeles and most popular for cover video of John Mayer's ‘Queen of California’, Jon Levy will open the festivities followed by prolific singer-songwriter Rachel Rachel and the exceptional Territory favourite, Max Fredericks.
At 8pm rays of choreographed sparkles will paint the night’s sky with ground shots and aerial bursts of fireworks displayed over the Recreation Lagoon to officially celebrate Territory Day.
The Darwin Waterfront Corporation will restrict personal fireworks at and around the event in the interests of safety for event goers.
Picnics and eskys are welcome however glass and alcohol is not permitted.
Free on street parking will be available from 5pm in marked bays and in the Mavie street overflow car park via Frances Bay Drive or Stokes Hill Road. It is also free for the first two hours per day in the Kitchener Drive Multi-Level Carpark.
