Beach volleyball at the Waterfront

Darwin Waterfront Corporation

Now you can play beach volleyball at the Darwin Waterfront’s Recreation Lagoon.

“Following the creation of a new beach area for the Arafura Games, the Darwin Waterfront Corporation has installed a full-size volleyball court at the Recreation Lagoon, creating a new, free outdoor activity to enjoy this Dry Season,”  Samuel Burke, General Manager at the Darwin Waterfront Corporation said.

“The facility is free to use 7 days a week with a volleyball available from the lifeguards on duty from 9am to 6pm daily, or players can bring their own ball.”

“This is a simple, low-cost way for government to provide a free facility for locals and visitors which promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.”

“The Darwin Waterfront is already a place where people choose to spend their time walking, swimming and doing other exercise so the facility is yet another option to get active in one of Darwin’s most beautiful outdoor areas.”

The facility will be in place for the duration of the Dry Season.
