Tropical Cyclone Trevor hardship payments closing Friday

For the information of households in Borroloola, Ngukurr, Numbulwar, Milyakburrra, Groote Eylandt and Robinson River affected by Tropical Cyclone Trevor.

The Territory Families’ Welfare Recovery Team is continuing to process remaining applications. In all, over 1720 applications were received and as of 23 April 2019 there were just over 60 applications yet to be processed.

The deadline to submit an application has been open for four weeks and closes at 4.30pm on Friday 26, April 2019.

How to check on the progress of your application:

Call the Hotline 1800 700 250 (option 4). If you find yourself in a queue please be patient or call again.

An alternate way to query the status of an existing application is through the email: TF.welfareassessment@nt.gov.au

Territory Families is asking for people’s understanding and patience as our team works hard to talk to everyone as they process the remaining applications.

How much money is available?

      • $503 is available per adult and $254 per child, capped at $1266.00 per family

      • This payment is not means tested.

      • To qualify for the payment proof of residency and registration at an Emergency Shelter or evacuation by police is required.

How to make a late application?

  • Applications for the immediate relief payments can be made by completing the form available from your local Regional Council Office and email it to TF.welfareassessment@nt.gov.au  For people who do not have email, please call our Hotline 1800 700 250 (option 4) to be directed to your nearest Territory Families office.

  • You must provide proof of identity and proof of evacuation from an effected area. Proof of identity can be either a driver’s license, Proof of Age Card or passport.
