The Office of the NT Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (ICAC) is expanding its team in a number of areas to investigate reports of improper conduct and prepare intelligence-based products to help the public sector actively resist corruption.
The Office of the ICAC has advertised two permanent Investigator positions. As recruitment processes progress for these roles, and as an interim measure, the Office of the ICAC will be looking to second up to two Investigators from within the NT Government to join the Agency for six months.
Commissioner Ken Fleming QC said ICAC Investigators are critical front-line personnel who are responsible for providing advice and investigative support in relation to allegations of improper conduct in public administration in the NT.
“Staff working in the Office of the ICAC have an opportunity to make a significant contribution to restoring trust in public administration in the NT,” Commissioner Fleming said.
“We are looking for appropriately trained people with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, who understand the importance of confidentiality.”
All Office of the ICAC staff are sworn-in to the Office of the ICAC and as a result they are subject to strict confidentiality obligations by law, with serious consequences for breaching those obligations.
Applications for advertised positions must be made through the NT Government online jobs portal.
The Office of the ICAC is also offering the following secondment opportunities to existing NT Government employees for up to six months:
- Project Officer (Administration) – responsible for assisting with administrative and policy development projects.
- Project Officer (Assessments) – experienced in complaints management and assessment and responsible for triaging reports.
The Office of the ICAC has engaged a temporary Senior Governance and Policy Analyst who will develop intelligence products, including guidelines and reports, to manage risks in key areas (for example, procurement, conflict of interest, gifts and benefits).
