Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

Tickets are now on sale for the Territory's premier event on the sporting calendar, the 2019 NT Sports Awards.

Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture, Executive Director of Community Participation, Sport and the Arts, Phillip Leslie said the NT Sports Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of our athletes, coaches, sporting officials and volunteers across eight categories, with previous recipients including Olympians and Commonwealth Games champions.

“Guests are in for a treat with guest speaker for the evening, three time Paralympic gold medallist and two time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Kurt Fearnley, AO,” Mr Leslie said.

“In 2012 Kurt was a member of the Investec Loyal yacht crew who won the Sydney to Hobart yacht race and more recently was named the New South Wales Australian of the Year 2019.

“The evening will be hosted by the Territory’s own Amanda Pernechele.”
