NT ICAC Appoints General Manager

Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption

The Northern Territory Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (ICAC), Ken Fleming QC has announced the appointment of Territorian Matthew Grant to lead the Office of the ICAC as General Manager.

Mr Grant will be responsible for leading the operations of the Office of the ICAC including its investigations, prevention and business services functions.

Mr Fleming said he was delighted with the appointment of Mr Grant, who formally commenced his role on 7 January 2019.

“We are lucky to have attracted Matthew back to the Territory after many years interstate working with the Australian Federal Police and the Western Australia Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC),” Mr Fleming said. 

“I am confident that Mathew is the right person to lead the operations of the Office of the ICAC.”

Mr Grant has ten years’ experience with the Australian Federal Police and most recently managed the Operations Directorate at the WA CCC.

He will work on the establishment of business systems and processes for the Office of the ICAC, commencing engagement with the Northern Territory Public Sector and Territorians, and development of the ICAC’s investigations capability, which will focus their service delivery to all Territorians.

MR MATTHEW GRANT

Matthew Grant is proudly born and bred in the Northern Territory, with more than 25 years’ experience working in highly-sensitive and complex legal environments.

Mr Grant was most recently an executive member of the WA CCC, providing high-level counsel to the Commissioner and overseeing complex investigations into serious misconduct and corruption within the WA public sector. During his employment with the Australian Federal Police, Mr Grant garnered extensive national and international experience managing multi-agency investigations and operations.     

Mr Grant has a Bachelor of Investigations, has undergone the highest level of investigation management training and extensive executive development training.
