Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

NT Peak Sporting Bodies are encouraged to apply for the NTIS Officiating Development Program 2018/19 Grants Round 2.

Round 1 was a fantastic success with nine Peak Sporting Bodies sharing in nearly $30,000 worth of funding.  There is $28,000 available for Round 2.

Two funding categories are available:

·        Category 1: Accreditation Courses and Competitions.

·        Category 2: Development of Officiating Coaches and Educators.

Administered by the NTIS, Peak Sporting Bodies can apply for both categories and receive up to $4,000 per category, to a maximum of $8,000 in total.

Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture NTIS Director Pathways and Performance, Karen Taylor, said the program aims to help Territory sport organisations upskill and obtain higher accreditation for their coaches and officials.

“We are looking forward to applications for round two of our Officiating Development Program which continues to help improve the knowledge, skills and experience of accredited sport officials participating in the NT,” Ms Taylor said.

“Territorians love their sport, and the Officiating Development Program provides valuable development support for sports officials, as well as coaches and educators of officials.

“The program also provides Peak Sporting Bodies with a chance to reward and recognise Territory officials for their contribution to Territory sport.”

Applications for the Officiating Development Program Grants Round 2 are open until 28 February 2019.
