Car enthusiasts right around the country will be revving their engines with excitement, as entries to next year’s Red CentreNATS officially open on Sunday.

The popular festival will be held in Alice Springs over the Father’s Day weekend from Friday August 30 – Sunday 1 September 2019, with a jam-packed program set to thrill punters of all ages.

Event coordinators have maintained early bird registration prices at just $50 and car clubs with five or more entries at $30, with the website containing all the details for those interested to sign up early and begin planning their time at Alice Springs’ ultimate festival of wheels.

Entrants and those looking for extra information about the event are being encouraged to tune into the Red CentreNATS special on YouTube Premiere on 16 December 2018 at 2.30pm NT time (4pm AEDT).

Summernats co-owner Andy Lopez said the online special would coincide with entries opening for Red CentreNATS 05.

“We’re excited to be broadcasting the Red CentreNATS special on YouTube Premiere this year, letting us reach more people around Australia than ever before,” he said.

“It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the fifth year of this amazing event, and entrants and spectators can look forward to some awesome brand new program elements in 2019.”

The 90-minute-long broadcast on Sunday is set to feature the Grand Champion competition, Burnout Masers action and a bunch of other show elements.

A preview of the show can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hR-voYDlA0 and anyone can visit the YouTube Premiere broadcast’s holding page at www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7aHPbLHeBA to interact with others in the comments section before and during the broadcast.

The broadcast will also feature Territorian Troy David who took out the Grand Champion Trophy at Red CentreNATS 04 with his 1954 FJ Holden Ute, which took him three years to build and complete.

A massive motorsport fan, the Alice Springs local came to Red CentreNATS 04 with the goal of winning Grand Champion after building the vehicle for his second daughter.

Mr David also built another Holden for his first daughter, and after recently becoming a father for the third time, the local man looks set to spend countless hours creating another masterpiece.

Locals and visitors alike are being urged to keep an eye out for Red CentreNATS general admission tickets going on sale early next year, along with some exciting new additions to the program.

Northern Territory Major Events Company General Manager Tim Watsford said Red CentreNATS 05 promises to be a great success, following the popularity of the 2018 event which attracted around 800 entrants and more than 15,000 people through the gates.

“We’re encouraging car enthusiasts of all ages to take advantage of the early bird registration fees and look forward to welcoming people from all over Australia to the Red Centre for the ultimate festival of wheels,” he said.

“Whether you’re an Alice Springs local or have travelled thousands of kilometres into the heart of Australia, we urge everyone to get involved in Red CentreNATS 05 and enjoy three action-packed days of automotive competition and entertainment.”
