Darwin Waterfront patrons will have a lot to smile about with 21 days of free parking on offer over the festive season.

The free parking incentive by Darwin Waterfront Corporation will commence on Monday 17 December 2018, and run through to Monday 7 January 2019 inclusive. Free parking applies to over 500 car parking spaces located both on-road and off-street at the Waterfront.

“This decision underpins our focus on supporting all of our local Waterfront businesses, and we hope it will also provide some extra relief over the Christmas season”. Samuel Burke, General Manager, Darwin Waterfront Corporation said.

“The Waterfront precinct is a vibrant destination this Christmas, with all day dining options, tours & attractions, retail outlets and a jam-packed program of festive events”.

“The Christmas spirit is alive and well at the Waterfront, with our exciting new Christmas lighting display every evening and Santa visits commencing this Friday until 14 December.”

Parking time limits will remain to ensure there is availability of spaces for people to visit. The free parking incentive excludes the Kitchener Drive Multi-Storey Car Park which already offers the first 2 hours free to patrons year round, or 3 free hours for Darwin Waterfront Members.

Rangers will remain on duty to regulate road safety, manage time limits and access violations in accordance with the Australian Road Rules, and continue to maintain the safety and security of the Waterfront.

To add to the Christmas cheer, three lucky children will win their ultimate wish list from Santa to the value of $1,000 each, just by spending $20 at the Waterfront before 16 December.

The Corporation advises that entries are coming in thick and fast with specific requests for bikes, tablets, PlayStation consoles, netball hoops, LEGO, trampolines, swing sets and more.

A winner will soon be drawn from each age category of 0-5yrs, 6-10yrs and 11-15yrs, and Santa himself will deliver the wrapped wishes to the three lucky kids on Sunday 23 December 2018, at the Waterfront.
