NT Youth Week Grants the first to go live on the new GrantsNT online portal

Territory Families

Territory Families is the first NT Government agency to use the GrantsNT website with the launch of the NT Youth Week Grants which are open now until 30 November 2018.

GrantsNT is a new online portal designed to streamline and improve the way businesses, not-for-profit organisations, sporting groups and individuals apply for and manage their grant activities.

NT Youth Week is a celebration of young people across the Northern Territory and will be held from 8-18 April 2019.

Grants of $500 are available for individuals, and up to $2,000 for organisations, groups, clubs and businesses to host activities and events across NT Youth Week.

Territory Families Chief Executive Officer Ken Davies said NT Youth Week provided an important opportunity for our community to celebrate the achievements and success of young people.

“Young people are the leaders of the future and NT Youth Week provides them with a platform to share ideas, express opinions, have their voices heard, showcase their talents and celebrate their achievements,’’ he said.

“Children are at the centre of the work we do at Territory Families which is why we are pleased to be able to provide more than $57,000 in grant funding to support events and activities during NT Youth Week.

“The NT Youth Week Grants are also the first to be launched on the new GrantsNT online portal which will provide improved functionality and a convenient and reliable way to deliver end-to-end management of grants.

“Territory Families is excited to be the first NT Government agency to use this new platform, as it is in line with our reform program to find efficiencies and improve the way we deliver services.’’

Territory families is also calling for young people between the ages of 12 and 25 to nominate to become NT Youth Week Ambassadors.

NT Youth Week Ambassadors help to promote and drive participation in youth related activities by speaking with media outlets, sitting on panels and providing a youth perspective on the coordination of the events and working closely with stakeholders.

Ambassadors are the face of NT Youth Week and up to five of them will be selected from across the Northern Territory to promote youth related activities in the lead up to NT Youth Week.

Nominations for NT Youth Week Ambassadors are open now until 30 November 2018.
