NT Planning Commission Media Release Stage 2 Humpty Doo draft Area Plan

Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics

The Northern Territory Planning Commission is inviting the community to comment on the scope and content of a draft Area Plan for the Humpty Doo Rural Activity Centre.

The Chair of the Northern Territory Planning Commission, Dr David Ritchie, said “Stage 2 is commencing now and allows for further comment and input into the draft Area Plan, which has been prepared by taking into account community feedback received during Stage 1, as well as the involvement of the community advisory group and Litchfield Council.

The draft Area Plan is a long term vision for the use of land within the Humpty Doo Rural Activity Centre, including where future land use can occur and the identification of infrastructure requirements into the future.

The Commission has developed a draft land use concept and associated draft planning principles, and is seeking input from the community during Stage 2 consultation to identify a preferred option for the extent of the rural activity centre and the mix of land uses within. The final Area Plan, once introduced into the Planning Scheme by the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, will assist in guiding future land use and transport planning, as well as maintaining the rural environment," said Dr Ritchie.

The public are invited to visit our popup stalls at the Woolworths Complex Humpty Doo and Coolalinga Central during October and November 2018, for dates and times visit the website at www.planningcommission.nt.gov.au

The closing date for submissions is Friday 30 November 2018.
