Renowned Russian pianist Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev at the Araluen Arts Centre

The Department of Tourism and Culture’s Araluen Arts Centre is pleased to present the winner of the Percy Grainger Second Prize at the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition, Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev, as part of his national Australian tour.

“Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev delighted audiences during his performance at the Sydney International Piano Competition and we are excited to be able to present this high-class international performer to the Alice Springs community,” Senior Director of the Department of Tourism and Culture’s Araluen Cultural Precinct, Dr Mark Crees said.

“Tarasevich-Nikolaev performed expressively and imaginatively during his finals performance at the competition, and his concert at Araluen will feature works by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Greig and Rachmaninoff.”

The grandson of famous Russian pianist, teacher and composer Tatyana Nikolaeva, Tarasevich-Nikolaev has performed across the world, including Germany, France, the UK, USA and Macedonia.

In April, Tarasevich-Nikolaev made his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and became an exclusive recording artist for Decca Classics with his first CD under the label released also this year.

“We are looking forward to presenting a night of beautiful classical music from a performer with a deep musicality and a fiery, Russian flair,” Dr. Crees said.

Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev will be live onstage at the Araluen Arts Centre on Friday 19 October at 8:00pm.

Ticket prices are $39.00 for adults, $35.00 for concession and $32.00 for Araluen Arts Centre Members.
