Statement from Professor Catherine Stoddart, Chief Executive NT Health
It is my pleasure to announce that Michelle McKay has accepted the role of Chief Operating Officer for Top End Health Service.
Michelle brings a wealth of skill and experience to the role. Michelle has a clinical background as an emergency nurse. During her clinical career she managed emergency departments, has been an educator of staff, and is a published researcher in the field.
Over the last 15 years, she has held a range of executive positions within health systems in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Michelle comes to us from her role as the Chief Executive Officer at Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Prior to that she has worked extensively in health services in South Australia and Queensland, including Uniting Care Queensland, Adelaide Health Service and Queensland Health.
Michelle was selected from a competitive pool of national and international candidates, and I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to NT Health.
Allison Grierson will continue to act as TEHS Chief Operating Officer until Michelle takes up the position in January 2019.
