The Department of Tourism and Culture’s Araluen Arts Centre presents a special tribute to country music star Patsy Cline who died in a plane crash at the age of 30.
“We are pleased to present the special story of Always… Patsy Cline which tells the true story of the friendship between the country singer and Louise Seger, a fan from Houston,” Senior Director of the Department of Tourism and Culture’s Araluen Cultural Precinct, Dr Mark Crees said.
“The show will captivate audiences with its down home country humour, true emotion and her unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight.”
Always… Patsy Cline tells the story of how Seger befriended Cline after a performance in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961 and the friendship that continued through their correspondence until Cline’s death in 1963.
“Always… Patsy Cline is a delightful and heart-warming night of music and live performance, and we look forward to presenting this wonderful true story for Alice Springs audiences,” Dr Crees said.
Always… Patsy Cline has enjoyed highly successful tours across Australia in 2016 and 2017, as well as a successful run off-Broadway and being named one of the most produced musicals in America by American Theatre Magazine.
Always… Patsy Cline will be live onstage at the Araluen Arts Centre on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 July at 8:00pm.
Ticket prices are $55.00 for adults, $52.00 for concession and $50.00 for Araluen Arts Centre Members.
