The extensive focus of the Darwin City Deal on
heat mitigation, cooling and greening, and the work already underway in Darwin,
provide an opportunity to make further connections with other cities and
jurisdictions that have an interest in this area.
There are
four thematic tracks at the summit: regulation and governance, innovation and
disruption, social resilience and financing that are of interest to the
Northern Territory and integral to the development and implementation of the
Darwin City Deal, and the attendance of NT Government representatives will
allow a broader understanding of best practice and opportunities.
The summit will also inform ongoing city revitalisation initiatives, with site
visits that provide insights into arts and culture regeneration, urban greening
and smart city initiatives around Singapore.
Two public servants from the Department of the
Chief Minister, the Regional Network Leader and Cities Director will be part of
the delegation.
The trip will take place between Saturday 7 July and Friday July 13.
