Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

The Darwin Waterfront turned into a sea of blue and gold as the Territory’s Parramatta Eels held their official signing session on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s Round 14 Telstra Premiership clash at TIO Stadium.

Territorians enjoyed up-close and candid moments with their NRL heroes following the team’s open training session at TIO Stadium earlier today, with Fans wishing the team well before the ‘Territory Eels’ take on the North Queensland Cowboys on Saturday 9 June from 7pm.

Department of Tourism and Culture, General Manager of Northern Territory Major Events, Mr Tim Watsford, said tickets were selling fast but still available for the game and urged Territorians to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

“NRL fever has well and truly taken over the Top End and I encourage everyone to come down and support the Territory Eels as they take on the North Queensland Cowboys,” said Mr Watsford.

“Territorians absolutely love NRL and this weekend’s game is sure to be one of the most exciting sporting events in the Top End this Dry Season.

“We’ve still got a fantastic selection of seating available for Saturday’s game, with both premium and general seating options available.”

General admission tickets are priced at $25 per adult, while children at (aged five to 12 years) are $15 per child. Concession tickets are $20.

Territorians are reminded to only purchase tickets online through official ticketing websites. To book, visit www.ntix.com.au.

As part of the celebrations for game, the Department of Tourism and Culture is giving Territorians the chance to win a signed Parramatta Eels jersey. The competition runs until game-day Saturday 9 June and entries can be submitted via the Northern Territory Sport and Recreation Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/NTSportRec/.

“Territorians are encouraged to ‘catch the bus and skip the fuss’ when travelling to Saturday’s game, with FREE public transport available to Marrara Sporting Complex,” Mr Watsford added.
