Two Northern Territory Government representatives will travel to the United States (US) today with Primary Industry and Resources Minister Ken Vowles.
The delegation will visit shale gas operations in the US and meet with regulators to learn about best-practice operation, regulation, and the economic and social outcomes of shale gas development.
The delegation left Darwin on 19 May and will return on 29 May.
The public servants travelling with the Minister are:
Chief Executive, Department of Primary Industry and Resources
Chief Executive, Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Travel costs for the two public servants travelling to the USA:
Total for flights – $33,290
Total for accommodation – $4,789.
Travel costs are based on the official itineraries received from the travel provider prior to departure and the known exchange rate at the time.
